Looking north towards the Ha’penny Bridge. Opened in 1816, its name refers to the toll of a ha’penny that it once cost to cross it. Its official name since 1922, however, is the Liffey Bridge. It was the first, and remained the only pedestrian bridge crossing the Liffey until 1999, with the opening of the Millennium Bridge.
