At the center of the crossroads of Grey Street and Reginald Street, at the heart of this charming residential development built by the Dublin Artisans Dwelling Company in the early 1900’s is this monument. A plinth records that it was “erected by the parishoners of St. Catherine’s to the glory and honour of God and in commemoration of the Centenary of the Emancipation, 1929”
Its octagonal base predates this monument, however, and was once a public fountain, funded by Guinness
